Geneva, 30 November 2005 – Ethiopian Human Rights Council (EHRCO) Support Groups held a simultaneous candle lights vigil in London, Amsterdam, Boston and Geneva.
The Geneva vigil was held in front of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
A delegation from the support group met with the head of the African Division of the High Commission for Human Rights and handed a letter demanding the office to add its voice to Amnesty International in asking the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners and send a rapporteur to Ethiopia to investigate and report on arbitrary detentions.
